1st – 7th July 2018
The Emerald isle … A country that offers so much. Packed full of majestic history, beautiful scenery, culture and architecture… brought to life by the locals with typical Irish charm. Toast all this with a Guinness and you’ll want to return year after year!
We head to West Wales and on to the Irish for our crossing to Rosslare. From here we head to Waterford for our overnight stay at Treacy’s hotel in the heart of Ireland’s oldest city.
After a full Irish breakfast we leave Waterford and continue South West before arriving at our next stop, the Eviston House Hotel in the heart of Killarney. Once settled in you’ll be treated to dinner bed and full Irish breakfast throughout your stay, free use of the facilities and live Irish music nightly at the Danny Mann.
The ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula.
Travelling from Killarney we head around the famous “Ring of Kerry” . This tourl takes you through some of the most dramatic and breathtaking scenery in Europe. . Passing through Killorgin , Glenbeigh and Caherciveen , Waterville and Sneem before arriving and the picturesque fishing town of Kenmare.
The green hills give way to white waves, as we head to the Dingle. We’ll pass through beautiful Tralee Bay in the morning, before stopping off at Anascoul, where rolling fields run down t the Atlantic ocean. Continuing on past Slea Head , gaze over over to the Blasket Islands, which locals have dubbed “The next parish to America”. Including a vist to the little town of Dingle. This charming fishing port is home to Fungie the dolphin, so famous he has his own statue !
Free day in Killarney.
Nestled near the shores of Lough Leane in the Killarney National park is our base, Killarney. And as your hotel is central you can explore the narrow streets, local pubs and even hire a Jaunting cart to Mickross.
Day Six – Waterford
We return to the town we began for our last night in Ireland. Founded by the Vikings over a thousand years ago. This ancient city has Reginalds Tower as it’s centrepiece, a massive stone fortress you can still visit to this day, and with the world famous Waterford Crystal factory here too, it’s not difficult to see why it’s one of Ireland’s most visited places. Staying once more at Treacy’s Hotel.
Time to bid a fond farewell. A bright and early start takes us back to Rosslare to for our sailing to west Wales. Arriving home later that day.
