Sun 29th July – Monday 30th July 2018

Join our summer break taking you to the home of Shakespeare! You could take a cruise on the Avon , a visit to Ann Hathaways cottage or simply wander the shops and arcades. The following day it’s Regency Cheltenham, well known for it’s horse racing this spa town is also a charming place to shop, eat and admire the architecture.

Day One

Departing South Wales we head to the north of the Cotswolds and to the Medieval market town of Stratford upon Avon.
Stratford, famed for being the birthplace of Shakespeare, this is a vibrant town centre with typical high street shopping alongside independent stores, excellent restaurants and cafes. Add Ann Hathaways cottage and the opportunity to cruise on the River Avon and as the man himself said….. “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it”…

At the end of the afternoon we’ll take you to the Holiday Inn Bromsgrove for a one night stay including evening meal & breakfast the next morning.

Day Two
Cheltenham is the most complete Regency town in Britain and one of the few English towns in which traditional and contemporary architecture complement each other.
Cheltenham, on the edge of the Cotswolds, is an inland spa resort of handsome Regency architecture, broad avenues and fine parks. The medicinal waters can be taken at several sites in the town but mainly at the Pittville Pump Room whose blue dome rises above the lakes of Pittville Park. You can still drink from its original pump, and it is England’s only source of natural alkaline water.

The principal street of Cheltenham is the Promenade with its fine regency terraces and Neptune Fountain. Montpellier is where Cheltenham’s elite reside. Here, small boutiques jostle for space with wine bars and restaurants such as Brasserie Blanc, Raymond Blanc’s informal spin-off of Le Manoir at Oxford.

Departing mid afternoon for a late evening return home.
