All Inclusive Rhine Mosel River Cruise Holiday

Day One
Departing early in the morning (all pick ups will take place between 4am & 6am), we'll be stopping for a motorway services refreshment break on our journey before arriving at Dover for our lunchtime ferry crossing to Calais. From here we'll head northward, stopping for an overnight hotel stay with breakfast included.

Day Two
After enjoying a continental breakfast at the hotel we'll be leaving to make our way into Germany, and to the city of Cologne where we'll embark the A-Rosa cruise vessel (A-Rosa Silva); once onboard you can settle into your cabin ready for an 5pm departure from the port to begin cruising along the Rhine and onto the Mosel.

Your cruise package is booked on an ALL INCLUSIVE basis for five nights, with Comprehensive breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets with live-cooking stations, embarkation refreshment and daily teatime snacks, plus high-quality drinks throughout the day: including tea, speciality coffees, water, soft drinks, beers, wines as well as a wide selection of sparkling wines, cocktails, and long drinks (also available outside dining hours). Excursion Options
We have included several coach excursion options (included in the price) for those who wish to have some time to enjoy and explore on shore. However, you are welcome to remain on board the vessel during the daytime if you prefer to do so!

Day Three - Cochem
Today we arrive in Cochem late in the morning; here you'll have the opportunity to explore by yourself.

Situated close to the border with France and Luxembourg, Cochem is surrounded by vineyards and the spectacular hilltop Imperial castle. The town is full of character, with narrow cobbled streets lined with half timber colourful buildings, and plenty of quirky shops to tempt passers by!

Day Four - Mehring & Trier
Today we dock around 9am at Mehring, and our coach and driver will be on hand to take you out on today's excursion to Trier.

Trier is Germanys oldest city, and has a heritage that includes no less than nine UNESCO World Heritage sites! From Roman monuments and ruins to ecclesiastical buildings including some of the oldest churches and Gothic Cathedrals in Europe, but it's surprisingly easy to get around!

Trier isn't particularly large, and with a hop-on hop-off bus and a land train available to get you to the top sights, and you'll find restaurants galore down on Johann-Philipp-Straße, and on the Kornmarkt too..so you won't go hungry or thirsty from all the exploring!

Day Five - Bernkastel-Kues
Bernkastel-Kues is a town split in two by the Mosel River, and is known as the heart of the beautiful Middle Mosel. Achingly pretty, this medieval marvel had plenty to feast your eyes on.

The most photographed spot in the town is the Spitzhäuschen (Pointed House) which dates back to 1416, and is home to a small wine bar...followed by the Rathaus (Town Hall) which is built in the Renaissance style and don't forget the Graacher Tor or Gate, that's protected the town from foreign invasions and now is home to a fabulous local history museum.

If all this has made you thirsty.. then hop on the coach and we'll take you to a local vineyard and winery for a winetasting session of the area’s local tipple.

Day Six - Koblenz
Arriving mid afternoon, today you can relax on board or make your way around the 2000 year old city of Koblenz.

Known as the "Duetsches Eck" or German Corner, where the Rhine and Mosel rivers converge, and set at the foot of an incredible backdrop of four mountain ranges, Koblenz has mix of French and German cultures that helped shape this unique city. Cosy wine taverns and baroque houses down narrow alleyways can all be found in the Old Town, whilst culture is just around the corner at the Ludwig Museum near a statue of Emperor William I.

Day Seven - Cologne
This morning we arrive bright and early at Cologne. We'll have the morning to explore this fun and friendly city, where the twin spire cathedral stands proud overlooking attractions such as the city museum, gorgeous chocolate shops and maybe the odd tavern calling you in for a stein of beer! We'll be leaving late lunchtime and heading back for our overnight stay with breakfast included.

Day Eight
Time to end our European adventure; after enjoying breakfast at our hotel we'll make our way back to Calais for our ferry crossing back to the UK, and arriving back home late evening.
